Cool. My plan is to bronze braze filets on top of this. That should reinforce it enough for real load. I’ve only got an oxy/pro torch. I looked into it, but a TIG setup was  more expensive to get started in my garage.

Oh my friend, I stumbled upon your post by accident. Tell me why you decided to resort to the soldering method. Is this part not load bearing? I think argon welding (tig) would be more appropriate here! Or am I wrong?
