Two years ago, on a flight back to the States, I met Steven - a South African filmmaker and producer on his way to the Cannes Festival. We sat next to each other for nine hours, sharing a long and intense conversation. Although we planned to reconnect the next time I was in Cape Town, life had other plans, and we never did.
Three weeks ago, I ran into him, completely by chance, in the middle of nowhere. This time, we decided to finally make it happen. During our evening together, I told him about my street photography project and my wish to close it with a portrait of myself. Two days later, we hiked up Lion’s Head together and he took that portrait.
The final image in my Cape Town street project is: ME.
I’m flying out tomorrow. The portrait will be minted and available for 24 hours while I make my way back to the States. 4 replies
