Started reading The Ministry for the Future this weekend

Enjoying it so far — it’s a bit more doomer than I would like, but it’s directionally aligned with where I see things going

@maurelian.eth were you the one that recommended it to me?

Stephenson’s inner covers are unmatched.

Maybe 'twas me, I'd definitely casted about it at somepoint, though ultimately I did not finish it. It started to feel very rambly, though there were also parts that I loved, and I don't regret what of it I did read. Also it definitely gets more optimistic from the brutal beginning.

Interestingly I've just started reading a similarly themed book, my first in that genre since Ministry for the Future.

I'm like 35 pages in so far, it's basically only talked about a queen crashing her private jet, and a guy who hunts feral pigs for a living, and it's incredibly engrossing.

Oh interesting, I have two Stephenson books I haven't read -- maybe time for a third 😂
