While it’s awesome to see solana infra used, I think airdrops for growth model isn’t what socialFI should be. You end up with a bunch of airdrop farmers at best, and bots on average.  

Imho, figure out a way to surface DAO asset management into groups and social and charge bips

@aeyakovenko We work with teams to target high quality Farcaster users based on what they're optimizing for since we have a lot of social graph and onchain data (exclude accounts identified as spammy) and only improving this over time so optimistic our airdrops will be way more effective

I like the idea of FC as airdrop plumbing, but that’s still a race to the bottom at odds with content quality and long term user base

I think my concern was that even if you have the best plumbing / socail infra for airdrops, it still incentivizes games at odds with content quality

I think this is resolved by:

1) segregating user cohorts well -- eg. users that care about journalism but not tokens don't see the latter in their feed

2) creating a new category of utility tokens, because otherwise it's just trading wrapped in an idealistic narrative
