latest swath of firings against trans individuals make her non-starter for me, this is certainly a win for privacy, but she seems all too complicit in the larger political agenda against underrepresented groups

From reports, I saw they were actively discussing sexually explicit topics and surgical procedures, which, I mean, what people do in their own time is fine, but it seems pretty reasonable that this is well out of pocket for workplace topics.

100% agree not sure tho that immediate reaction should be to fire them and revoke their security clearances, and without clearances those people are fucked

I can’t imagine what was in those texts and it’s certainly not what I would do. BUT I honestly cringe when I hear the term ‘sexually explicit’ bandied about, largely because it’s a term that has historically been used as a tool to ban books and speech of certain groups

no worries — I obviously keep an open mind for possible "meanings behind the words" when things like this happen (given my own personal circumstances), but even when more specifics are given, it does seem well out of scope for work discussions.
