Anyone got any advice on shin splints? I ran a week ago and had a little bit of pain for the first 2kms and then it went away - but today from 2km on it was awful and had to stop. Worst I’ve ever had and only in my lower right leg. Any tips?

The only advice is the one every runner doesn’t want to hear. You have to reduce your mileage and if it hurts too much. Stop running until the inflammation is gone.

Is it advisable to walk that same distance in place of running?

everyone is different, there is no one-fit-all solution. I had shin splints on Feb 2024 and I just reduced my mileage from 60 to 30km/week. it healed in 2/3 weeks. but I'm experienced enough to know how my body react to inflammations and where I can stress it to not worsen the situation. it's a trial and error for everyone...

Thank you! I’d reduce mine to 2.5km, and walk instead. If it yields positive results, yay for me.
