tbf I'm a lazy AI research poster
used to cast along with gm8 at /ai , but was turned off by the highlander moderator vibes.
the most direct way we can incubate upstream discussion is by involving Nous and Prime Intellect among others, upgrading crypto-compatible services like openrouter.
most importantly, SOTA is educational, and casts like mine are inadequate for the productive experience that will achieve runaway network effect. we really need instructors like Mollick, Karpathy, Carmack, Jim Fan, et al to discover the possibility of crowdfunding wrappers here that can inspire novelty back into their main gigs.
tbqh, I'm fine with watching the industry play out from my shadowy corner, will try my best to continue the async conversation.
but it honestly isn't enough. 1 reply

yeah, after so many years of excitement, it's a bit disappointing to see research turn into hype-forking (idk what else to call it). maybe call it momentum researching.
it occurs to me that we might discover some unlock for @abcoathup / @tim / christine kim, distilling + instilling discussions between FC & ethmagicians, for example. lowering the cost of participation with a filter may end up with more social accrual, more motivation for core devs, etc.
those companies in particular are eager to outpace the big 3, and "crypto is for the agents", but have we really seen any force multiplier besides MCP hype? meanwhile there's orbiter.host, why not agents with linktrees? why not @shl0ms alts, but more so?
to your point about doing it alone, we just have to come to terms with the fact that most of the bleeding edge is balkanized to whoever gets seed fund. I still think there's industry standards that would force emergent features, and if that's broadcasted here, it will unify & self-sustain. 1 reply
