trying to find the best AI tool for writing and somehow google, reddit, twitter, ... is like 10x less useful and trustworthy than a friend's recommendation

I had a whole arc in 2024 where I got sick of mining “best books of” lists for titles. They’re more vehicle for agenda than actual curation for the most part. Just exhausting 

So I just started reading the best selling books of all time 

I had some misses (Casino Royale, And Then There Were None)

But it also led me to some of the best books of all time (The Godfather, The Name of the Rose, Shogun)
