the U.S. finances growth globally. the decrease in value is just a result of that and i think will always be the case. 

as long as there is a bid on U.S assets, the offset is enough to maintain a steady decline without a catastrophic collapse.

i say assets not UST, because assets generate enough growth locally that offset the devaluation. flight to safety is still a flight to U.S. assets.

I think it actually needs to be a bid on US govt debt in particular, which begs the question of “how financially irresponsible can the US govt be before that bid disappears?” A limit _does_ exist, just a question of where it is. Current fiscal path is unsustainable
