yeah i’d like to see MM adopt XMTP too but i’m curious to hear why they might not want to shift messaging to XMTP

The wallets will be different but my hope is that it’ll eventually be easier to see all the wallets connected to a FID across clients in a simple dashboard by MM

I would like to think so but I doubt there'll be an easy way for it.

If I understood correctly, TBA will be using XMTP for chat. Which is an open standard, so probably a much better choice long term (although I can imagine a dozen good reasons why they wouldn't want to use them)

For wallets, I assume Farcaster went with Privy for speed and for cross-chain compatibility, while OTOH, Base doesn't want cross chain AND are heavily invested in their own wallet infra. Magic spend being the big feature here (we all hope!) 

The chat part seems much more solvable and I hope the MM team take this seriously

Oh me too, I've become a lot more bullish on farcaster since the wallet integration, because it has *significantly* more interactions than my main wallets.

Very bullish on wallet + social feed, but IMO the fragmentation was avoidable!

Yeah I find the farplet wallet to have double edges. 

My farplet wallet is getting more interaction than my main wallet lol

I do like the UX of farcaster but can definitely see the point of multiple clients creating incomplete overlap

one of the aims of @quidli is to consolidate all your socials/social graphs on top of one smart contract to unnecessary reduce wallet sprawl

not perfectly implemented yet, but you can already do this across farcaster, telegram, discord and email accounts atm on quidli.xyz

Yes, it's a big issue here. But I think mini app developers can rectify this hiccup by setting their mini apps to automatically sense the default wallet set by any users of each client. It would be much better that way. 100 $tipn
