Would this also be correlated to why people tend to be more socialist in urban environments? Move to city for university-> incur student debt-> can't afford housing-> become socialist 

It's a sad state of affairs

Rugged individualism doesn't exist in an urban environment. People learning to work together as a community is how great cities are built.

When bad actors come in and attempt to extract more than they build, eventually the community is going to rise up and defend their resources.
