the future is undecided but personally i think it would be more *fun* to bid on casts if i could do it a coin of the realm, say $far or $cast, maybe even $base or $zora. USDC just doesn't hit the same.
i think there'll be quite a few use cases for collecting casts other than memorabilia: charity, garnering favor or attention from creators (simping), exclusive experiences (Patreon, OF), airdrop farming, flexing etc.
i remember dan's obsession with the 'ice cream so good' meme and would be surprised if farcaster didn't look like a crypto rails version of that sometime soon: micro payments, creator coins, hyper-tipping, collecting, all sloshing around on an immutable ledger, as satoshi intended. 1 reply
