I still pop over to Twitter every once in a while and we stream /gmfarcaster on there, but I totally missed the downtime issues this week. Had no idea until someone mentioned it here. Less less time on the bird app.

For weeks now, the only ads that I see on X are scams pretending that Elon is airdropping or pre-selling a token.
Reporting them does nothing — they show up again the next day with different wording, pictures, and authors.
Is this the new normal in X’s libertarian, anything-goes experiment that even scammers get a free pass, so long as they pay for ad space?
I can’t imagine that X is unaware, given the number of reports being made. So, incompetence or malice?

I celebrated too early. ☹️
The server my export sits on times out as the download happens...which makes the zip not save. I had three downloads allotted but only attempted twice. It won't let me attempt downloading again. SIGH.

I didn't think it was possible but…I did it. I got my data from Twitter. I've been banned since last summer and when that happens, you can still login but you lose access to controls that allow you to export your data. Thank goodness for EthicsPoint (and, bugging Twitter employees).

Does anyone have a direct contact at Twitter? Specifically support? Via a Reddit post, I learned about YourDigitalRights, which helps you write an official-sounding email...but Twitter doesn't monitor email addresses. I just want my data and my account gone for good. This limbo is annoying.
I think the reason Twitter doesn't allow people to delete their accounts is so they can claim (disingenuously) they have "X number of users."
