1/ It's #MonkSealMonday... I thought I'd share some of the story about Lei Ola (#MonkSealRH48) born on Oahu's North Shore in the summer of 2016.
As a volunteer, I arrived at her pup site in August 2016 to find her on her own, and called the hotline to report that her mother had left. Volunteers were concerned because monk seals in the main Hawaiian islands nurse on average between 42-45 days, but Lei Ola had only been nursing for 35, so it was "too early" for her.
