Brutus was long regarded as the most photographed green sea turtle in the world... as a regular basker at Laniakea Beach, he was frequently in the background as visitors posed with this famous Honu!

I get asked why people don't see as many Hawaiian monk seals on Maui as other islands... they are there. This is a 23-year-old Maui resident, #MonkSealRQ21, but with less people on nearby islands like Moloka'i and Kaho‘olawe, seals will often seek less crowded beaches.

Happy Aloha Friday... always fun to get back to a check from my gallery in Kailua, where The Mokuluas is one of their best-selling prints.
I'll be chasing sunrise here when I get back to the islands, in honor of @newlightvisuals, who insists this is the best part of the day.

Long day, multiple flight delays and rerouting… and in the end, I got to NYC on time, and they sent my bags on my original itinerary, so they’ll deliver them tomorrow.
Perfection… now to get home and plop down in bed like a Hawaiian monk seal.

I've always said the amazing thing about the New Mexico sky is just how high it climbs... the big energy that develops in these clouds. My last night here, and I spent the weekend driving remote corners I haven't seen before. Well worth the effort.

We do love coyotes... I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful one north of Albuquerque back in October, but I just love Brynn's capture against the snow.

Our Laysan albatross are returning to the islands for nesting season... cannot wait to see these beautiful birds!

ITAP on incredible November day on Maui, with more than 25 Honu crowded together on the sand at Ho'okipa. This guy decided it was too packed, and headed back out to sea.
