Just wanted to make this important announcement that I am not reluctant to say... $.C.U.M. /scum is *NOT* closing or shutting down its operations! ✊🌈💦 Although many things have shut down, died out, sold out or moved on from the space. I’m still committed (insane) enough to keep on producing, trying to build networks of solidarity between based creators/cummunities and experiment (fail) with ways of tokenizing with them. I’m still* going live for episode 16 of The /politics Show (solo, just this week) and I’m hopeful for the future of $Politics development alongside @javabu.eth and the channel’s community. If you’re too young following me well here’s some lore drop for ya. This token began on hamchain as $CUM with its corresponding hamoji💦 It was for the lulz. I’d dump all me $degen, tips and farmed tokens into it and just reply tip to my hearts desire. Then ham died and I got to thinking of what could be next, maybe something a bit more serious. Well I had become well acquainted with and thought deeply about all these web2 clip industrial complexes, that were a mix of capitalist + collectivist incentives. 1. Capital can profit off of algorithmic monetization and capitalizing on an already mature + open licensed content. (Think like open source coding but with publishing your long YouTube video essays/podcasts or livestreams) 2. The collectivists profit ATTENTION by virtue of the capitalists producing and proliferating their content across all the relevant platforms on the web. A decentralized swarm of posting with mixed incentivization. One for the love of the name, the other, the game. Thus the idea of "Socialized Creators Union & Markets" was born and I will keep iterating on it as best and for as long as I can to try to best reward + account for all the labor that goes into sustaining our online spaces. If things have seemed more quite from me lately it's because my wif had to leave her job (and get herself pregnant lol) so I've been working ~50ish hour weeks at my drugs technician job and slowly readjusting.
