Raycast Keyboard for iOS is now live To be totally honest, this is their only hope on mobile given the constraints enforced in iOS by Apple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lta7_MCTzxo

Raycast officially released their iOS keyboard. It's pretty neat overall. Interestingly, rather than going the Gboard/SwiftKey route, they built it to be used alongside the default iOS keyboard. I’m not 100% sure about that decision, but I’m testing it out anyway. I proofread this cast using it.

Just learned that my Raycast pro subscription allows me to access all the included AI models through the Raycast iOS app. And it gives a clean LLM chat app with a provider and model picker. Really easy to test out the same question on various models this way. So far, for the limited prompts I’ve given (simple questions that web search or training data would have informed): Great ↳ Perplexity Sonar Reasoning ↳ Llama 3.3 70B Quite good ↳ Gemini 2.5 Flash ↳ Qwen 3 2.2B (super fast) Fine ↳ GPT5 Nano (comparably slow and somewhat uninteresting output) ↳ Deepseek R1 Distill 3.3 Llama ↳ Moonshot Kimi 2 Instruct ↳ Grok 3 Mini Beta Not great ↳ Claude 3.5 Haiku ↳ Raycast Ray1 ↳ Mistral Small 3 Obviously there’s others but this isn’t a comprehensive test by any means. Just loose first impressions.

So I'm a Raycast Pro user now, in part because it's the most useful app I've ever used and I want to get even more functionality out of it, and in part because I want to help keep them in business a bit longer to see what else they can contribute to the space. I'm on Pro, not Pro + Advanced AI so I have these models available to me. Considering that I already have a ChatGPT Plus account and Venice Pro account, so I was thinking of not going with anything OpenAI or Mistral, and considering I don't want to use the Grok 3 mini that's just out of frame of this screenshot, which model should I use? Use case, in this context would be mainly web search, details checking, some grammar. For code, I have Copilot Pro through my school and the aforementioned ChatGPT 5. I doubt I'd do much with coding in this interface anyway, but maybe.

Found this froma Raycast post and it looks like a pretty crazy deal. Raycast Pro, n8n, descript, warp, superhuman, perplexity, lovable, linear: all included in a $200/year subscription. If you use that stuff, could be worth checking out. https://lennysproductpass.com/

I tried testing the new Spotlight and while it's really good compared to previous versions, I'm not sure it's good enough to get me to switch from Raycast. Now I'm thinking about getting pro just to help sustain them through this tough time where I'm sure investors are panicking. Anyone sue Pro? Is it worth it? Why?

I don't know who needs to hear this "Quick Parts" → "Field" Really, Word, in 2025? Quick parts? But also ty to Raycast for spinning this answer up in seconds. Having command-sh-A right there for dumb small questions saves so much messing about (even if now I'm casting about this 👹)
