As we’re exploring how to build culture around $LUM, there’s a lot to learn from the PFP projects that managed to stay alive through cycles.
CryptoPunks, Bored Apes, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, even Milady—these aren’t just pictures, they became communities, cultural identities, and signals of belonging. What kept them strong was a mix of:
• communities that attract builders and creatives
• momentum through consistent progress, not empty roadmaps
• cultural identity that goes deeper than aesthetics
• utility and innovation that expand what holders can do
• credible teams (or resilient leadership from within the community)
For us, these are not abstract lessons. If $LUM is to become more than a token, if we want to design a PFP that resonates, these are the elements we need to keep front and center.
