Pratt, absolute legend. I hope he goes down in the history books. Adam Corolla, hilarious. And experienced in construction. + Palisades reservoir is STILL EMPTY. I don’t live in CA, nor have ever been unfortunately. But I’ve been checking in with a few sources online to get an idea of what’s happening. Would love to hear what people think about Pratt, and secondly, what people think about all the red tape for rebuilding. And thirdly, how do you feel about the reservoir being empty? 🖤⚡️ From Virginia, with love. https://youtu.be/sJJxH_aRwXY?si=bmrVFReHAE2D4zZt

The rumors about LA nightlife dying out seem to be true, I’m afraid. Went out yesterday, and even the Sunset strip was a ghost town. I hadn’t been there in a couple of years but I was still shooketh. I don’t normally go party at night anymore (unless it’s for a show or karaoke), but my friend was visibly upset. She doesn’t understand where to meet people in this town at this point. Then today I went to the Mar Vista farmers market, and it turned out it this was the hottest club in town. Not many single people - mostly couples and families (unsurprisingly) - but it was lively - everyone was enjoying the sun and the goodies. I even ran into @thepark with his fam! My story doesn’t have a real point, to be honest, but the general observation that the social culture in our city has drastically changed is legit. I don’t think we’ve ever recovered from the pandemic and the overall insanity of the world. I’m lucky I genuinely don’t care about this stuff anymore. If it starts bothering me, I’ll just move to NYC. Photos: today > last night

Our parents always want us to live the biggest dreams they never got to fulfill and have the things they never had… … but a neighborhood IKEA was so not on my bingo card 🙃

If you live and work in the /los-angeles area long enough, you’ll see movie stars, actors and actresses, in every day life scenarios and not just in the LAX international airport. Do you remember Apollonia Kotero from Prince’s movie, Purple Rain? I saw her not long after the movie came out. I was a teenage kid with my mom and siblings at a Denny’s in San Pedro, CA. She was with two bodyguards, but it was definitely her. Just eating at Denny’s. When my mom was still with us, she consulted with the cast of a couple movies to help them understand the mindset of certain troubled people. She was a Psychologist. She actually got to meet Kevin Costner and Michelle Pfeiffer among other celebrities. I won’t say it’s common, but it’s not uncommon to see famous people if you live here. And guess what? They’re regular people. They go to Starbucks, they get fast food at drive-thrus and they want to eat at sit-down restaurants sometimes. Not surprisingly, they’re approached by many who ask for their autographs, pics, etc. When I see this, I have sympathy for their lack of privacy and I’m not the only one. I see just as many people who, while acknowledging they’re in the presence of celebrities with a smile or a wave toward the famous person, leave it at that. Invariably, the person is grateful for the implicit social allowance to be at least somewhat anonymous and unmolested while out and about in their daily lives…without having to wear some ridiculous disguise. Welcome to Hollywood, Los Angeles, and the surrounds of them. Where celebrity is almost mundane. 😄
