Some new backyard wildlife photos for you guys... I think you should know Henri by now, our Great Blue Heron. He comes in the morning several times a week and hangs out in the pond for hours. Once I saw him in there at midnight.
Bernard is the newest edition to the crew. I have seen him nearly every day for the last week. He's always in the same exact spot where the shadow of the house can keep him half in the shade. He comes in the late afternoon when the sun is right. He's not at all afraid of me.
Bowser the snapping turtle lives under a tree that's half in the water but comes out to murder when it's warm. I've never seen him out of the water but I know he's always lurking ready to snap.
Lastly we have Woodward our pileated woodpecker. Easily the most insane animal I have ever encountered. He's just screaming constantly flying around crashing into things and then he goes to the exact same spot by the fence to dig for bugs in the dirt. I understand why he was the inspiration for Woody Woodpecker.

I got them all inside and turned my office into a nesting area. 6 in total. Let’s hope I can find them all good homes cause the resident cats are NOT HAPPY.

Ran into a neighbor walking his dog and he told me that our pond gets wood ducks sometimes and I don't know if you have ever seen a wood duck but those things are insane looking. He told me to get some cracked corn and throw it around the pond to attract them. No wood ducks so far, but these guys showed up.
