Crypto hates fees, but fees grow networks.
Take this from an ex-Lyft product manager for driver earnings
Drivers always complained that we took way too high fees. Yet, we gave back those fees until we were unprofitable.
Fees we took were redistributed in the form of incentives to get drivers on the road (come online, earn $15 for 3 rides) or to position them in the right places so riders have short wait times (drive here, earn $7 bonus for your next ride).
We should have done better to explain to drivers that yes, riders are paying a lot more than your "base fare", but the difference goes towards the bonuses you earn.
Now, as we build @megapot, we’ve grown precisely because we take fees from players.
These fees are user engagement spend to build an exciting jackpot and user acquisition spend to reward those who drive player volume.
It may seem noble to have no fees, but you’re suffocating a network since no one is reinvesting in it.
