Is decentralized storage a fad?
I don't think so.
Crypto hype around decentralized storage certainly cooled after 2021, but the underlying need hasn't disappeared.
The biggest weakness of decentralized storage ... isn't technology.
It's developer experience.
The decentralization should disappear behind excellent U...

The AI angle for Decentralized Storage is underrated!
This is the part that interests me most.
Everyone talks about AI compute.
Very few talk about AI data.
Models need enormous amounts of:
- images
- video
- audio
- text
- embeddings
- checkpoints
- synthetic datasets
Those assets need to live somewhere.
If AI be...

These are very valid comments and very reasonable expectations
… yet most teams and founders fail at it 🤷♂️
It’s not just paragraph, it’s almost every failed FC app or project promise 😟
When you encourage your most dedicated contributors to invest time under one set of incentives, then move on without addressing the outcomes (especially when tokens were illiquid and difficult even at peak hype), it erodes trust. It makes me—and likely others—lose interest in doing further business with the platform.

Not a typical post for FC — but Ronaldo deserves it and this is great summary of his impressive career that is ending without World Cup win 🙏😟

He just played his last World Cup game.
Cristiano Ronaldo. 41 years old.
Here's the full story:

Centralized clouds vs Decentralised storage like Filecoin
Centralized clouds are amazing — but not perfect;
Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure solved enormous problems:
- reliability
- global availability
- developer experience
- security
- billing
- support
They're incredible businesses.
But the...

The world is producing an absurd amount of data 😱
AI, sensors, satellites, scientific research, genomics, media, autonomous vehicles ... and it's speeding up.
We're entering an era where humanity generates far more data than a handful of cloud providers can economically or politically manage forever.
Enter Web3 dec...

Funny thing with best parts of Web3 technology:
- current market is smaller than people hoped, but
- the long-term opportunity is larger than most people think.
I see decentralised storage as one of the crucial pieces of internet's future. Way more than most people using AWS, Azure or Google Cloud think.
It's one o...
