I look forward to seeing it. 🐝🐝🐝 As the seasons change with global warming, we need to try different hive types to see what works best for the extra heat and damp. Commercial hives, and langstroth are easy for us to use but not necessarily ideal for bees. I’d like to try a Top Bar hive at some point! 🐝🐝

These little f**kers are trying to gnaw/burrow into the hive… luckily the hive is strong enough to fight off most wasp attacks. 🐝🐝🐝

@samantha who do you source your honey from? (No need to divulge that info, just a conversation starter πŸ˜…) I’m in the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§, but there’s some great beekeepers on farcaster in the US πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ @coolbeans1r.eth has recently set some hives up too 🐝🐝🐝🐝 Theyre all on a relatively single source Acacia I believe (?)

Busy bees 🐝 today. It’s hot and humid so they don’t really want to be in the hive. 🐝🐝

Another swarm on the farm this week. We lease our land from the King Farm. Dan snapped a great video of this swarm for folks. Doug is 2 for 2 on the swamp capture this month. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKzHh3iMQ5N/?igsh=MWV1dG1iNW1uajRvdw==

🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Update on the hives and the swarm re-entry into its parent hive. The Green hive on the left is the hive in question. All quiet on the western front!

Got a quandary I could do with some advice @kmacb.eth I’ve got a swarm that’s in a position that’s too dangerous to capture. The overgrown hedge is too flimsy to put a ladder against and they’re higher than my stepladder can get me. I’ve put a bait hive a ground level below them, but they don’t seem to interested. The only thing I can think to do is melt some fresh wax in there and try and make the scent of precious use stronger. I don’t have any swarm lures, they’ve been going into the bait hives easily this year!
