Day 45 of casting (useless) 3d prints I didn't know I need until I saw them πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Had to print a Super Mario star as a Christmas tree topper, hoping it will make me invincible for these days to come πŸ–πŸ—πŸ»πŸ·

Ok, I β€œmight” have an addiction problem… Almost all my incoming shipments for Xmas are filaments for the 3d printer.

Best part of having a 3D printer is that I can print whatever I want for my wife. (It contains a pair of earrings). No more waiting for shipments that could get lost. If I need a nice case I can have it if few hours (time to print them)

Experimenting with new type of filaments. eSun PLA Wood. First time I try eSun. And PLA wood does not have an official profile! 😩 Result is horrible. Too much stringing. PLA basic profile does not work. Back to customization of flow rate and temperatures…

Day 44 of casting (useless) 3d prints I didn't know I need until I saw them πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Had to print a "Back to the Future" license place to pair up with the upper one, taken 15 years ago during my trip to California 🀘🏻

Experimenting with TPU for AMS. A little too hard fro a tennis ball... but the result is nice esthetically. gotta study more how to print proper TPU 85A or TPE.

After a lot of messing around, the flame is now ready to be printed: 1️⃣ Model made by Makerworld Lab AI 2️⃣ Sculpted with MeshMixer to make some space for the 🀘 hand 3️⃣ Cut in pieces with 3D Builder to be able to print it in colors. I'm tryin to reproduce the "Rock'n Roll" frame I printed and painted a month ago - see pinned πŸ“- but made entirely in PLA colors, without need to post-process it. Obviously the painted one will always look better, but this version will take a lot less time to make to have it finished and ready.

You know you are too much into 3D printing when you read ABS under a workout video and the first thing you thing is: "that filament is hard to print, oh shit... it's not a filament"

Day 43 of casting (useless) 3d prints I didn't know I need until I saw them πŸ‘ŒπŸ» A little - and early - Christmas tree 🌲 The result of the mid-air printing video I casted yesterday: it pushes the printer to its limits, printing in the air while simultaneously cooling it down makes the lines stay straight 🀯

Yes, you're seeing it right. I'm literally printing mid-air, plastic cools enough to stay more or less straight as it is 🀯 Finished print coming tomorrow πŸŒ²πŸ‘€

Day 42 of casting (useless) 3d prints I didn't know I need until I saw them πŸ‘ŒπŸ» It might look like a cute and harmless little skull model, but it isn't. It's a 3d printed Aztec Death Whistle: blowing in that hole produces a high-pitched shrieking sound - I can assure it's really loud and scary 😬

Day 41 of casting (useless) 3d prints I didn't know I need until I saw them πŸ‘ŒπŸ» This has been one of my first 3d print ever, saw that spider model and I had to own it physically 😍 Needless to say it's been defending the web since then πŸ•·οΈ - it's just sitting in front of the router, you know 🀣
