ITAP of a grasshopper. Started doing macro again, when I come cross some critters, and yeah, my technique still sucks. Can't work the flash quick enough. Only a few pics before this little guy decided my camera flash was more suitable for him (photo proof hehe)

Oh, that's a dedicated camera and a macro lens, with a flash above. You can see it on the third picture. I can't operate it like pros can (there's some amazing macro photos with this exact combo) but I try.

Wow I need one of those. I’m always trying close ups and I fail.

Don't feel bad, those are great. For true macro, you need to get closer. When I am at 1:1 magnification (for jumping spiders e.g.) I am basically almost touching the spider with the lens. But you can get lovely results. But that combo can cost quite a penny.

Jumping spiders are so cute. I love them! My niece has two baby tarantulas. 😎 Would be worth the money to get photos like this. Best place to buy a macro camera?

Oh man, I am not even sure where to start. I have an olympus camera, that has a bit smaller format than your normal cameras. The advantage is that it is a bit more portable than a Canon/Nikon/Sony, but pictures have a bit less dynamic range and a bit more digital noise. Their latest camera is OM 1 mark ii (around 2k). My macro lens is M.zuiko 60mm macro. You can get it used for 300-400 dollars. The latest (and the one I will get eventually) is the OM 90mm macro (roughly 2k). Plus the flash and the diffuser. Not sure on the cost, and the type, you can ask in the store. Macro is all about patience. It can be nerve wrecking. From todays shoot, I took like 50-60 photos. All without the flash are crap and I could delete them. With flash, I have 3 keepers. So if you're not really into it, I'd advise against it lol.
