i think allowances realize the promise of DAOs and take them mainstream. the best use case for DAOs was democratizing resource allocation. meta collapsed because they were slow and inefficient - paying "contributors" millions of dollars to slowly distribute millions of dollars. tools to programmatically distribute "use it or lose it funds" to trusted community members, and adjust those allowances based on ROI, is democracy 2.0. imagine if the senate and house of representatives worked like this - each senator gets 10 billion, if they waste it they're out, if they spend it effectively they get more. same with brands - instead of paying one influencer to make a video for you, why not give your customers allowances to reward content that promotes the brand, in return for free product? this is the future, and imo the most promising thing happening in Web3/crypto right now
