Farcaster Pro was an easy choice given how much time and effort I’ve already invested here, but I wonder if it might alienate newcomers over the long run.

The last thing you want when you’re new to a social platform is to fight an incumbent vocal minority dominating most of the mindshare in a pay-to-play game.

The real job of a decentralized social network?

Not vibes.
Not speculation.
Not even great clients or flashy features.

👉 It’s ensuring the network can’t be rugged.

Meta, X, LinkedIn all closed their APIs.
They decide who gets to build. Who gets access. Who gets silenced.

@farcaster must not repeat this.

This isn't about cool clients.
It’s about decentralizing network-level decisions (👋 Snapchain).

The biggest risk?

Merkle forks the network. @neynar becomes the only API.
Farcaster turns into Web2-in-Web3 clothing, just better branding.
