Super excited to announce the launch of livestreaming on @pinetree! We launched Pinetree on May 1st at FarCon NYC, with the goal of being the best place for casters to create and share long-form videos Now, we're excited to build upon that foundation and add support for live content Thread 👇

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴? I think @yanowitz said it best in a recent Empire podcast episode: "The endgame of social-led distribution of audio and video is two sides of the spectrum -- you have livestreaming and you have short clips." The key here is *distribution*. @giu and I still firmly believe in long-form video as the content form that generates the most value over time, and remains evergreen (hence the name of the company :)) That said, the current information landscape is noisy, messy, and polluted with slop. In order to cut through, you have to bifurcate into real-time community-oriented content (livestreaming) and quick async bursts that can capture attention through the slop (clips) What we want to do with livestreaming on Pinetree is to enable creators to have one place where they can create content that gets distributed and seen, while also converting viewers into subscribers and fans that stick around for the long-term value. We are of course, still in the very early days, but livestreaming is a foundational piece to build the best video platform for creators
