Looking for honest feedback on collectibles!

What do you like? What don't you like?

I'm very happy seeing how nice the Collectibles Casts rollout is coming out. Something I strongly dislike: they don't have a cannonical, sequential auto-incremental token ID. That's very important for a digital collectible that's meant to preserve a memory of something that happened at a specific point in time.

team said metadata module is upgradeable so hopefully they'll add all the suggestions that make sense

for example now the nft's dont have the cast screenshot image, but they will eventually (wasnt ready for rollout)

i would expect the date to show up there right in the image then

The timestamp in the metadata is ok, but still not enough for easily figuring out how a collectible relates to another collectible in a chronological fashion.

Yes. I hope in a future version they make the cast hash a metadata field. Cc / @slokh

The fact that the token ID is the cast hash is a minor compensation for this, but I agree!

The way ERC-721 tokens have been used since they 2018 has developed hard habits in the ergonomics of the format. I strongly encourage you talk to people that care a lot about digital collectibles in general and you will find out that this is not minor detail. The token ID is the backbone of a collection.

…but I see, you’re suggesting the time of collection is important. Hard to change now but should be available to indexers.
