Yeah. The similarly seems to be their ego. Thinking that they are somehow immune to the friction everyone else faces. 
"you can just do things". Turns out, you can't just do things. Things are hard to do.

Ego, but also some shape of optimism, willingness to try things against all odds, recognizing a supremely rare opportunity, etc.

I don't think it's all bad.

When mixed in with self-interested opportunism makes it toxic, though.
