my Canonicon is still one of my favorite NFTs ever some of you remember JPG, the curation platform/protocol; i used to work there and helped come up with some brainstorming for our official collection, mainly i came up with the Canonicon name and some of the CC0 art ideas the NFTs were customizable, dynamic art in their own right, but they also had utility: 1) they served as an access pass to our "Canons" NFT curation system, and 2) they tracked your Canons governance XP you can see in the pic below this tracking in action - "Proposals" noted how many Canons submissions i'd made, "Votes" how many Canons votes i'd made, and "Level" showed my progression per my rising gov XP and with each new level, you'd unlock new layers like characters, items, landscapes, etc. that you could use to customize the appearance of your Canonicon whenever you wanted the final cherry on top was the "Recently Exhibited" section, which was a carousel featuring NFTs you recently curated in your own personal (non-Canon) exhibitions, and it'd update as you made new exhibitions it's no secret that over the years a lot of NFTs have been flat and static, but i loved how Canonicons married entertainment, interactivity, and utility in an inextricable and meaningful way. and these were soulbound, so there were no financial considerations, just experiential and reputational
