Why is it so expensive to bridge to Base? Anything on the roadmap to decrease the cost? (I only have $40 in ETH in a wallet but a bunch of USDC but I can't move it to Base because it costs $67.)

Sending to portal.base.eth is a pretty good option if bridging eth. But still overshoots gas
