https://www.wired.com/sponsored/story/linkedin-helping-platforms-fight-fraud/ Will be pretty interesting to see how much openness they embrace vs treating it like a monetization stream. I could see arguments for either if I were in their shoes. We definitely agree that trust is something the internet sorely needs

Our instances of fakes on LinkedIn are growing and their ability to do anything about it seems to be waning…. Frustrating

It's certainly a challenge after building a $10B jobs business by monetizing lead quantity over quality. I can empathize. But also, as a hiring manager, I don't like paying $500 a month just to have thousands of bad applicants. One founder I spoke with last week told me he promotes his roles on Linkedin specifically because it drives so many applicants that it seriously boosts his follower numbers. 🧠🧠đź§

We pay for Recruiter, own our page, but have no say beyond that. There are currently 5 fake recruiter profiles reaching out to people claiming to work @ Uni that don’t and LinkedIn just says “make a support ticket”. These profiles can reach out to people, grab PII, scam them, damage our brand, using our brand- but all we can do after paying thousands upon thousands for recruiter seats is “make a support ticket” that doesn’t get answered- or if it does- another profile pops right up.
