I’m an elder millennial. I bought the first one and would have bet money that Harvey Danger’s Flagpole Sitta would have dominated the late 90’s. That song was a banger.

lol love this. iconic to have bought the first release honestly. i was very young at that time, i think the first on we had in the house was #4. my brother picked it up im sure

At the time CDs were so expensive so when I realized I could get this “mix tape” with all the popular songs….my mind was blown. Then I asked for a CD burner for Christmas and helped decimate the music industry by ensuring none of my friends bought CDs ever again.

Where i'm from "original" (as we called them) cds cost around 1/20th of an average monthly salary so we always opted for pirated copies. There was a weekly market of pirated music and game cds that i would go regularly. Fond memories of that place :)
