i’m here for these hot takes 🔥 that’s certainly one way to see it. but passive income allows an engineer in big tech to work on open source public goods full time. it allows a mom to quit 1 of her 2 jobs to spend time more time w her kids, etc etc. it enables you to be more selective with your time, is it really parasitic to want that?

No but it’s a bit parasitic for me to want to be able to stay home and play video games all day while my bills pay themselves. I’m sure there’s plenty of people like me who just want an easy life lol. But also I work a 9-5 and I’m well aware that they pay me just enough to keep me alive but not so much that I won’t come back. IMO the issue here is that people still think their pay determines their worth But also, some countries are well disposed to those with that “fuck you pay me” mentality
