Request for comment: @clauswilke published recommended changes to tipping parameters. This sounds right to me, but I'd like everyone's feedback before I push it up the chain.

lol obviously they're not the same, but degen isn't nothing. if you take a step back and realize what you've built here, people invest a lot of time and money into building accounts and cultivating a following and having the rug pulled out with no explanation is a tough pill to swallow.

SEC is an elected entity and part of US governance.
DEGEN TIPPING GAME is a centralized, off-chain, opt-in, voucher program for distributing $DEGEN to high quality farcasters.

How is a government body and off-chain incentive program analogous?

Also, more related to today's events, my opinion is that I think it's hypocritical to criticize the SEC for a lack of transparency with their hand smacking and then turn around and do the same thing here with bans. Not that Warp released some statement criticizing the SEC, just seemed like a good analogy.

I disagree with this very strongly. I LOVE waking up to a new allo refresh. Switching to weekly would without-a-doubt reduce my engagement and that of many others. 

I strongly believe you need to reduce the allos of the top accounts by a little and distribute better. I think this would be more effective approach.

What does the management of WAKE and DEGEN want to do with DEGEN TIP GAME?

I personally like an allocation every day, but agree with evening out the allocation / incorporating the power badge into the equation

Perhaps, should be even users buying into their allowance paying with eth and getting allowance based in the eth value. Want bigger allo — pay more. Might be good as an option next to whatever system is at place already. Actually it would be something like Floaties by /lp

I’ve even ran the numbers, and my preference would be 

EXP(LOG(1000 * median, 5.1)) * 1.00 

which would curb eg @ciniz’s allowance by 85% while leaving small ones almost unchanged with a 69 $degen minimum

Thanks for collecting feedback! Daily allocation seems fine to me, but I’d strongly encourage to consider the option of increasing the base of LOG such that the allowance of large account is slashed by 90% without affecting small allowances, as discussed with @rjs here

As we’re on it, another thoughts, you might want to consider taking the median number of likes per post, rather than the median of likes per day. I haven’t had time to think through all implications but it would definitely change the incentives and also no longer require ppl to grind every day to earn an allowance.

That would be counter productive imo, most people have > 1000 allowance, which would be spend in a couple days tops and will eventually leave all the tipping power to higher ranking users for the remainder of the week
