thought exercise: Farclet filters noice + tipn tips below a [user-customizable] threshold. in Activity view, and notifications.

this would be a powerful nudge for the userbase to tip more in order to still have their tips seen by the recipients. Anything below the default setting might as well not get sent.

How high or low would you set this default?  Too high and you kill tipping outside of a few hardy true believers.

artlu's lemma: due to huge wealth inequality (a fact!), for tipping to work globally, the median threshold for tips recipients is higher than the median ideal threshold for tips givers.

There is no stable Nash equilibrium for tips notifications. It can either be too low (annoys the rich) or too high (preserves the sensibilities of the rich, and the custom is unsustainable)

exercise for the reader: how does this work for spam?


I think the best solution is to wrap transactions together, like notifications from the same miniapp, and show the total +/- amount.

I was referring to how transactions are presented in the wallet. Right now, I have so many microtransactions, that they start looking like spam (that gives me money, but still). 

My behavior would probably not change if instead of 10 micro-tx I saw 1 that said "noice +$1.7" and batched 20 transactions (sent and received).

would you tip more or less, if the notification of your tip is batched?

my point is that the supply side of tips is more limited than the demand for tips, and if the UI is too heavy-handed, it drives supply to zero.

also, if tipn and noice get batched, it opens up oppty for another mini app to send tips with less batching
