Something that seems to be entirely missing from farcaster is the understanding that normal people still hate crypto 

Coinbase is not cool to anyone outside of crypto, they absolutely hate crypto. The number of head nods I get on calls when I describe crypto as something “everyone hates” is hilarious

Normal people haven't had the chance to experience the value, so all they know are the bad takes they're fed from the media.

It will change soon with the passing of the GENIUS Act and merchants who are keen to use stablecoins. Once people can buy real stuff, the arguments that it's not real money and only for crime will die.
