My point was more so that you were on the right side of history (pun intended) then, but the meta has moved on 

The criticism from OP is that it’s out of touch (ie. a mountain man fantasy) to be focusing on personal full node operations for RPCs when competitive pressures are elsewhere

I appreciate the attention to censorship resistance but personal node ops don’t really address the more pernicious type of censorship that requires type 2 censorship resistance (https://nullchinchilla.me/2023/05/two-kinds-of-censorship-resistance/)

So this feels like an opportunity cost of our time and energy because it doesn’t make Eth competitive in the  near term nor does it address the more dangerous threats in the long term
