This is delicate, V. OpenAI raised on the idea that their research and findings would be open-sourced for us all to develop on top of. Once they scaled and realized monetization was realistic... they cashed out. Do you really see Sam just saying... "yeah, you're right. We'll OS it all? Sorry!" Honestly?

@Bittensor I believe, is more in line with crypto…. OpenAI does not appear to be. I think Elon has a point with the lawsuit. Litigation could bring light to things that may change people’s minds about OpenAI🤷

Musk is just right on this issue. OpenAI just completely abandoned the original mission to recklessly pursue AGI before any alignment progress was made. Of course Musk weakened his case by starting his own AI company.

the interesting part imo is where elon claims AGI has partially been accomplished and that his investment wasnt used for non profit purposes and instead a for profit product was built with it.

It's disheartening to see how conflicts can arise, even within communities that once supported each other. The tension between safety and EACC highlights the complexities and challenges within SV tech. Hopefully, a balanced resolution can be found that addresses concerns while fostering collaboration and progress.

I don't see any cool technology / innovation that requires relying on traditional "gun" like lawsuit to protect his rights. As you see in crypto opposite, traditional entities like SEC resorting to lawsuits against crypto.
