The media reported a meeting between Donald Trump and the CEO of Coinbase. The meeting allegedly took place on Monday, November 18. At it, most likely, personnel issues were discussed, including the candidacy for the post of head of the SEC. Earlier, Brian Armstrong said that the head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission should be headed by Hester Pearce, who has repeatedly criticized Gary Gensler.
Shaquille O'Neal will pay $11 million dollars to Astral NFT investors. The Astral NFT project was launched in 2022 and consisted of 10,000 NFTs created by artist Damien Gimono. Shaquille O'Neal actively supported the project, thus attracting investors to invest in it. In 2023, the value of the NFTs plummeted dramatically. Investors sued the basketball player, accusing him of advertising unregistered securities on social networks. The lawsuit also noted that NFT prices fell because O'Neal stopped supporting the project. Shaquille agreed to return 11 million dollars to investors.
StarkWare has announced an upcoming four-fold increase in the speed of transaction processing on Starknet and a five-fold reduction in fees. The developers intend to realize these plans within three months. With a 5-fold reduction in fees, Starknet will become the cheapest network. Vitalik Buterin did not ignore Starknet and approved their work.
Gary Gensler has announced his retirement. He held the post of SEC chairman for almost four years. During his tenure, he was noted for tightening rules for cryptocurrency platforms and numerous court cases against various crypto projects. Gary will retire from January 20, 2025, at the time when Trump is due to take office as President of the United States.
