Do you know about Boat Festival of Odisha (India)  ?

This festival was celebrated just yesterday, and i wanted to share its beauty and significance with all purple app fren & specially for /talkstory

The Boat Festival of Odisha, Celebrated on the full moon day of November, is one of the most beautiful festival from my state. 
On this special day we wake up at early morning to leave boats made of banana stems in the river, all while lighting firecrackers.

This festival is a tribute to the success and safety of these traders. Families celebrated to wish their loved ones safe and prosperous voyages.

The reason behind celebrate this 
our coastal state Odisha had a strong maritime trade history. Traders from Odisha used to travel all over Asia to trade spices . clothes & agri products

Thank you! This reminds me a little of the lantern festival we have here in Hawaii. Very different, but I think there is a similarity throughout asia and coastal regions.
