I’ve been fascinated with remotely operated underwater vehicles, or ROVs, and their roles in exploration, bathymetry (seafloor mapping), species identification, and eDNA collection. But we can’t really monitor the whole ocean right? Especially places like the Arctic and Antarctica those areas must be super hard to track

There are startups building autonomous underwater robots to do so, but it’ll be a long while until we can monitor the whole ocean. Colder environments with more ice certainly are tougher
