Dear Farcaster friends, please help me push back against @v and his team's latest algo update because it's unfair!

Why is this important?

Farcaster OGs like me have spent countless hours to build communities and develop meaningful relationships with the people following us. I've shared so many helpful posts in my /petar channel and you can see in the comments that I've helped people, not engagement farmed for the weekly Rewards

Besides, I've been constantly giving away my weekly Rewards to my community because this is what Farcaster encouraged us in the very beginning - to tip the people we engage with

However, V and co decided to devalue what me and others have built as real communities and push our accounts down the Rewards leaderboard, while pushing questionable accounts to the top

How is this fair?

What is my incentive to continue casting? What is my community's incentive to keep showing up?

Thank you @v for destroying everything accounts like me have built as engaged communities here

I feel totally demotivated to continue using Farcaster and I’ll rethink my strategy moving forward 🤔

@petar we ran the old algo and new algo on your data this week ending on sunday. 

- the old algo would have put you at position 1300. 
- the new algo puts you at position 1303.

i think it is reasonable to say that the change in algo has had no meaningful difference in your position on the leaderboard.

You are free to do what you want. 

I wondered if the algo change to limit engagement from users had unfairly impacted it you, and it appears that it hasnt.

I don't believe you, V, I'm sorry. You could've just typed this without running anything on my account

I started the current Rewards cycle and have stayed around 700-800 place to suddenly drop to the 1300s just after your algo update

I've been consistently charting in the 700s for weeks before the algo update

I wouldn't comment more on this topic

Good luck with everything Farcaster-related but you no longer have my public support

When my subscription ends, I would not renew it, too
