also how is it "fully onchain"? is the image data stored on chain as svg too?

yeeeeeeeeeet svg is the way to go for onchain arts

i made dixel.club a few years back which does something similar :) but for pixel arts

Its all done in the contract, no external dependencies. 

It randomly creates a string for the svg element, then the tokenURI of the NFT returns sth like:
