My mental model of how farcaster works needs updating. I still don't grok how actions, like follows or reactions, work. Looking at the JSON from addressActivity I don't see any place for actions to be recorded. I thought they would just be stored the same as posts.

Time for more building. Been thinking all night about how completely owning your data and social graph can do amazing things for a community. Not to mention if the community has total control of its finances too. Big big things are possible. New versions of DAOs!

I set up a node project and used @standard-crypto/farcaster-js to send a cast. Now it should be trivial to make a website, or app, or anything really to directly interact with farcaster! Exciting!

Yeah wow, this is one hell of an update! So much has changed. I've been checking out the new contracts and registry - looks great. Keen to hack around on it and see what's possible.

Any idea how I can derive my private key so I can use farcaster-js? I'm taken my seed phrase from my account and used the private key from the first derived address but no luck. I feel like I'm missing a key bit of information around how the farcaster client stores my keys...

I'm checking out the farcaster docs and wondering if anyone has had success making their own signed blob and casting it out. Any big gotchas I should know before messing around with it?
