A lot of people remember Purple DAO from when there were like 1500 people on the network and everyone knew everything that was going on and we were the only funding source at the time, so our moves were especially noteworthy. The network is much bigger now and there are much bigger funding sources, including Crestor Rewards and people sometimes think we died but Purple still exists and its members passionately yet quietly still do what they can to help the protocol grow. Most recent any by organizing, contributing to, fundraising, building a mini app, operating and voting in the latest retro funding round in partnership with /octant. 

Our treasury is small but our members passion for the network is big and our coordination abilities are probably our biggest value. More retro rounds with more partners.

I don’t think Nouns DAOs scale well and I don’t think we are a model of good governance and my DAO skepticism is at an all time high but when you have a group of people who come together over the love of something (Farcaster) it’s a beautiful and powerful thing.

only thing we can do effectively, imo, is to "drown out" this mechanism by building other things that make positive-sum investment/contributions a more seamless and rewarding (both intrinsically & financially) experience than aping into the latest memecoin - as long as that's not the case I can't blame people for aping
