one way is to apply to the excellent @catalog and put your work on their curated site 

another option is to just roll your own and do it with @zora’s 1155’s:

Each token is a song, the collection is the album, bonus points for unique cover art per track and “mint all” is literally grabbing the whole album.

music NFTs never took off because not a single one slapped. 

you *should* be able to go mint the banger on demand and I’m all for a simultaneous onchain and streaming release, as a label guy (happy to share my credentials with you anytime, etc)

You then need to listen to it. What? Hit play on opensea or my rainbow app? Pass.

Thanks to apps like Future Tape etc you can but it’s not like my wallet is holding anything I’d rather listen to than my music library.

Nice. Yeah, mostly agree with that. I haven’t tried Future Tapes but @surreal is the best app I’ve tried for streaming music from your wallets. Just doesn’t support Tezos or browser-based generative music yet, most of which I own. 

As far as the opinion that nothing has ‘slapped’ yet, there’s a lot of great stuff that could be very popular if it wasn’t confined to the web3 space and had more marketing. A lot of good work on soundxyz. I don’t think that’s the problem. Even popular web2 artists who released NFTs have all flopped from what I’ve seen.

It might just be that, with a culture of unlimited free streaming, people generally don’t care about ownership. But then you’d think visual art would be even worse because it’s exponentially more common. I wonder how well short films and animations do compared to still art. Curious.

Haha. The first comment is valid. I’m a huge supporter of the idea of on-chain music and have collected quite a few music NFTs, but also they are inconvenient and nobody seems to care about them like visual art.

I’m thinking: release on Bandcamp, then do limited edition ‘collectibles’ of each song as NFTs with art. Offer full album download to collectors.

I wasn’t aware of either of those. Someone else mentioned the 7160tl contract with Transient Labs where you can stack works under one token.
