NYC mayoral race update:

Cuomo is struggling to find enough support to continue his campaign. Al Sharpton is asking him to drop out so that Eric Adams stands a better shot against Mamdani. Presumably that means Sharpton will work to align Black voters with an Adams reelection bid. Labor unions are lining up behind the Democrat nominee.

Those within Cuomo's campaign are relying on a couple sources of cope. First, they believe that they can convince Republicans and independents to support him as they might see him as the best shot against Mamdani. Additionally, they view Cuomo as the inevitable middle ground between an incumbent who has become associated with Trump and a democratic socialist.

Wealthy donors and establishment Dems seem to be abandoning Cuomo in favor of Adams. This leaves the former governor in a tough spot with not a lot of previous support left.
