I was on a *strong* Hania Rani kick for a long time but recently drifted elsewhere. This might bring me back. If you haven’t heard her, “Eden” is an incredible piece to start with. (Heads up: this isn’t jazz per se, nor is it classical; not sure where else to put it so open to recs) https://youtu.be/4RcKtr5bGa4?si=bOwZLV_w00OgpxGR

Her KEXP performance is outstanding, too: https://youtu.be/_3EuiU1qdpE?si=a1nU4Jy7BhxT3TiF

Nice. I hadn't heard her before. Definitely not, as you say, Jazz, not that genres matter too much. But if you want to find similar stuff you might start at 60s-70s minimalism and follow that thread. To me she sounds inspired by Terry Riley, Steve Reich and their more modern ilk such as Julia Wolfe, David Lang (basically all of the Bang on a Can people), Michael Torke, etc. Then add Bjork-like "pop" on top.
